Industrial Design

Using marketing skills to scan the market and detect niches combined with actually being able to design a product that features the requested offering to then use the design skills to promote the product seemed a logical continuation of my work. Back in 2004 this lead to the production of garden furniture in Palestine and the establishment of Crescent Furniture.
The Bistrolino followed in these footsteps. The double folding Bistro chair has all to be a winner. The markets have reacted very positively. Production preparations are ongoing.

Industrial design is the effort of merging what we conceive to be ergonomic, esthetic and user friendly with what is produceable while staying in the right financial framework.
Good knowledge of industrial production is essential. We design for production machines.
Esthetics are important but also very subjective. I believe that form follows function.
And the success depends at the end on the affordability. If it can´t be done at home we need to look on the global market.

Designing products and taking them to the market is a long haul. But there is nothing that could be more exciting, except maybe sex.
